Learn Kumihimo braiding using this fun and exciting kit. The kit
includes full color instructions in English that take you step-by-step
through your first flat braid. Pictures show you every step. Braiding is
done by the numbers so there is no chance you can get lost. Braiding is
done on the kumihimo plate, using silken cord wound onto bobbins. When
braiding is done, there is thread to bind the end of your braid, flat end
caps for finishing and a clasp so that you can wear it.
The kit includes: instructions, kumihimo plate, bobbins, black silken cord, thread, end caps, jump rings and clasp.
You will need: scissors and some fabric glue (to glue on the end caps).
The kumihimo plate is the next step up in kumihimo braiding. Whereas the round disk is modeled on a marudai (round stool with hole in center) the square plate is modeled after the takadai which can run upwards of $450.00. Flat braids have a more woven appearance. They also take a little more practice than round braids. The mark of a good flat braid is straight edges and uniform width. The KTG Square Kit instructions include helpful tips on achieving great results fast. This kit is an inexpensive way to
learn flat braiding and see if you like it.
