Tips for Arthritic Beaders

For some of us age and arthritus have come hand in hand.  Sore joints make it difficult to bead over a round ball.  Between the berads, the thread and the slippery ball, things go flying all over the place.  So here is a tip.  Use a Pringles Potato Chip Can.  It is about 1/8" smaller than standard Christmas ball.  After making the first row of the belly band (which is where many of my patterns start) place it over the top of the Pringles can.  You can actually tape the beadwork to the can so it doesn't slide around on you.   You can also weight the can or tape it to the table so it doesn't move around on you.

This is also great for when you are traveling and don't want to take a glass ball with you.  Munchies and beading at the same time!  What could be better?

This helpful tip comes from Barb in Pueblo, AZ.  Thanks!
