Your designs are fabulous and your directions are really clear. Thanks for writing this book. I purchased a Kumihimo disk a few weeks ago, and so far I have been figuring things out from pictures and my own intuition, as I don't speak Japanese! Your directions really helped a great deal. I have been making beaded jewelry for about ten years now as a hobby and I was looking for something to take my work to the next level. I just love the look of braided silk cord and the way it mixes with hand made beads. Thanks so much and keep up your wonderful designing and writing. You work is fabulous and inspiring.NTB 'Accent Bead Design has received a fair amount of press recently. But if you missed it, don’t worry, I’ve included it here for you to see. Bead Society of Great Britain Newsletter Accent On: The Strata Series, Beaded Ornament Covers. This is the fourth book of ornament covers by this author, and the only one I’ve looked at. But if the contents of this, and the pictures on the covers of the others, are any indication, she specialises in amazingly ornate decorations for what we would call Christmas tree baubles. If you like lavish and over the top beadwook then you’ll like this. There are two pages of useful information at the beginning, under the headings "Beading Supplies" and "Good Things To Know" Another bonus for me personally was on the inside back cover: a step by step guide in photos on how to tie a weaver’s knot. I have used weaver’s knots, but not often enough to be able to do them without following printed instructions. I found Karen’s pictures much easier to follow than other instructions I have seen for this knot. In fact, I had no problems with the instructions for the item I made either. She has nice clear graphics with lots of explanatory text. I felt that this book would be a must-have if you really like making xmas tree baulbes, and a nice addition to the library even if you don’t because its designs can also be adapted to create wearable jewelry. --Guilia de CesareHi!
